Tell us about some of your previous jobs? Do you remember your FIRST one? How about the first interview you did? Are you working in your "dream job" now? Are you doing something in your field of study?

You can reply here in this thread OR post on your blog. Leave a link if you do! We'd love to visit :-)

BTW, this would make a GREAT layout -- get some of your thoughts out on paper.

My first jobs ,of course were babysitting jobs. Then when I got out of school I went straight to Univ to do my Education degree. When I got out, I had an interview that fall for a job. The interview was with my highschool principal/math teacher that everyone called "Hitler" because, as you can guess, he was STRICT!!!

I was very nervous, but he was the BEST and he gave me the job, believed in me, and guess what...That was in 1988 and I've been teaching EVERY year since!!! And I love it!!!

During high school I babysat, had a house cleaning job, and worked at a small town grocery store. I did a business college course after highschool. I was very nervous at my interview. But maybe my soon to be be boss was more so. He forgot to give me a typing test. That did cause some problems.

Right now, my job is a way to earn a living. I get paid well so it gives me some freedom to do things that I wouldn't be able to if I was working elsewhere. Like scrap. Very Happy

Other than babysitting, I worked in a little movie theater here a couple of times a week ushering people in and cleaning up after the movies... it was horrible trying to sweep up all the junk after a matinee! Then later... I was 16 and had just sideswiped a new car trying to park alongside to take my Dad to work... I had a learner's licence and the car was a lady that worked for him... needless to say that is when I went to work (it was summer) at a lodge at Whistler, cleaning cabins and serving meals and 'entertaining' guests at the Saturday night dance they held... oh man what a summer... but I got the car repair paid off and everyone was happy!

One of my first jobs where I was making a halfway decent wage was working at Bergin wholesale. We would prepare vegetables to sell to fancy restaurants.

My attire was a blue lab coat type, a hairnet, and some fancy yellow gloves.

Now the potato peeler was not the type of peeler you would find in your kitchen. It was a huge machine with a rotating barrel, and some type of blades that peeled the potatoes.

The only thing we had to do is cut the eye thingys out before we threw them in, (usually small red potatoes) and if we left them in to long they would come out the size of a pea. although that didn't happen but a couple of times in the three years I was there:)

Come to think of it I met my husband through one of the women I used to work with.....25 years ago
