Late posting today, but it's been a busy day spent visiting with family, catching up on news/gossip. We also had a campfire in our backyard -- made some YUMMY s'mores :-) While sitting around the fire, each of us took turns talking about some of the silly things we did as kids.

So..... what's your story?? :-) Care to share with us?

I remember once I was reciting a poem in our school festival. I was wearing a skirt, and as I recited, I was nervously lifting up the edge of my skirt :-) Thankfully one of the teachers caught my attention before my skirt was pulled up too far. I think I was about 8-9 yrs old at the time.

Remember the time I jumped out of the 2-storey bedroom window!!! We threw pillows out first to help when we jumped. The plan was that we were all going to jump out, but I was the oldest and I went first. Well, it hurt a lot!!! My knees pained ,but I didn't tell the rest of them that it hurt.I just told them they weren't going to do it, because "I" changed my mind about the whole idea!

Carla- What a funny story! Deanne- what a protective big sis you are!

My story has to do with kneading dough- at 10 years old we had just been taught how to knead bread dough (at school.) I loved it (and still do!) Well, I went home & told my mom about it and told her I wanted to bake. So I baked cookies- and I kneaded the dough instead of mixing it with a spoon. Well, those cookies were SOLID- absolutely disgusting. My brother threw one at the wall and it didn't break! They are referred to as my "rock cookies." BTW- I no longer Knead my cookie dough- I stir it and the cookies are very tasty.

Brothers like to poke fun, don't they!

I'll bet your cookies are now the best! Gotta make some errors while perfecting things. LOL!

ROFLMBO, these are hysterical. Altho' Deanne, Good Heavens gal, WHAT were you all thinking?? LOL So glad you weren't hurt! What a Face

My story has to do with eggs. I went to the cottage one w/e with Dad. My BF at the time (Pete, my Dh now) came with us to help Dad-- They were putting up a diagonal cedar wall in the livingroom. (yes, it was thre 80's-- 1983 or 84 I think.)

I was maybe 16 or 17. Well, we decided we'd have bacon and eggs for bkfst. Mom had sent along everything. The bacon was already there in the freezer. The funny thing is, I used the black cast iron skillet and those eggs were as grey as could be they looked disgusting and Dad and Pete ate them right up. They tasted fine. BUT: Peter TO THIS DAY makes ALL eggs in this house using whatever skillets we have on duty at the time-- I have not fried an egg in our entire married life (= 17 years!) . He STILL teases the life out of me about those eggs! ROFL! Silly. And I STILL laugh!

Some Home Economist's daughter, eh??
