I found this awesome tutorial online for a gift box for cards. It was written by
Beate Johnson She does some fabulous altered projects!
Anyway, thought I'd try one myself.
I used red cardstock for the bottom on my box, and a sheet of Basic Grey patterned paper for the top.

Step one:
Cut your base piece 7-3/4 x 9 inches. Score at 1-1/2 inches on each side.

NOTE: I also made a larger box so that I could fit 12 cards and 12 envelopes. For that one, I cut the base piece 9-3/4 x 11 inches, and scored at 2-1/2 inches on each side.
Step two:
On the long sides of the cardstock, cut the tabs (as shown). Apply sticky tape to the back of the tabs. Form into a box.

Step three:
For the top, cut your patterned paper to 6-7/8 x 8-1/4 inches. Score at 1 inch on all edges. On the long sides (as for the top) cut the tabs.

Step four:
If you want a scalloped edge, use your punch to do so. You might need to cut the tabs smaller so they don't show when you add sticky tape and form into box.

Step five:
I inked my edges, and then filled the box with cards. Decorate as desired.

Here are the two sizes of boxes I made.

I think this would make a fabulous gift for that person who has everything :-) Fill it with some cards and it let's them give as well!
