| Here are some of the things I do w/ buttons: Cluster embellishments: [img] [/img] [img] [/img] Smaller C lusters: [img] [/img] [img] [/img] Used to "delineate" a section of a LO: [img] [/img] Just as an accent: [img] [/img] Can you tell I LOVE buttons? Even if they DID belong to "dead people!" ROFLMBOPMP! |

THANK you Lois! I am so happy w/ those LOs. Ya know, one person said that "Your pages must be thick and heavy." UGH some ppl!
Most of the buttons we get are removed from clothing that is from large purchases Frenchy's makes... and they are rem'd from unsaleable items of clothing only- perhaps too old, stained or out of style, too "out there" even. Some are gorgoeus! They are all then placed in ziplox, on matching sets. I hate that they charge .35 cents per baggie... tiny- like for 3-6 buttons! I always like the smaller buttons for clusters anyway; which tend to have 6-8 or more in a baggie. LOL! Better deal for my .35 cents.
BTW, I HATE the v.v. small baggies- they are ard for me to open-- my MS fingers ( a bit numb) do NOT enjoy that! LOL I CUT them open ansd throw the plastic in recycler. When I use baggies for anything other than lunch/snack baggie sizes (the kids) they are the ones with the ZIPPERS that have the little handy-HANDLE! ROFL.
One set (a lg bag) of buttons WAS from a lady in Mom's stitchery group. When she passed away, she told the ladies to share all her sewing supplies among them. One gal brought a few items to stitchery group a few mos ago and Mom asked for the bag of buttons (1 of 3) for me. Some were lovely! So yes, I do believe that in effect, those MIGHT be considered DEAD PPL buttons!
I think of that lady when I use them- I was so thankful to Mom for thinking of ME when the bags of buttons were offered to share!
LOL Have I freaked you totally out, Helen my friend? Poor girl! |
