LOL Linda!!! Think I've told the story before but will tell again since we have new people here. Early in tax season I was talking with another of the tax managers and we were discussing how much we loved champagne. Of course that led to have you ever had Dom Perignon? Neither of us had and we commented that our spouses would kill us if we came home with a bottle of Dom. Ah ha!!! Bright idea, why don't we buy a bottle of Dom together and drink it on April 15th at the end of tax season? We even put a cute flower vase that we turned into a contribution jar out in the cubes soliciting $$ to fund our mission, LOL!! We actually collected $10 - $15 and it stayed in the jar for a couple of mos maybe and then one day came in and all but about $5 had been stolen, probably by the cleaning crew---oh well! Anyway, April 15th came, and I brought champagne classes and nice linens. Tom brought cheese and crackers and about 2 pm we proceeded to pop the cork and have our little party. I also brought a couple of cheap bottles of champagne and shared with other staff members. Well, what was so priceless is that one of the partners walked by my office, glanced in and smiled and kept going. Then he does a very abrupt stop and turns around and comes in my office and says "Is that what I think that is? I am obviously paying you too much!!" The look on his face was totally priceless. The Dom was good but not worth the price if you were wondering!!
