Well hello there all you wonderful ladies at the Sisterhood of scrap! Just thought I would pop in here since there hasn't been to much action going on.

I have been looking at my photo's in light room and trying to understand this histogram thing. When I take my photos I just wing it. Really I have no idea just what the heck I'm doing. Some turn out and some don't. Lately my images have not been looking all that great. Not to me anyway.

So I went surfing and found this website http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/about.htm Check out the tutorial section.

Have a wonderful night~ Sleep

that is really interesting... I've been playing around in PE6 and wondering what I'm doing...this will help for sure. I would like to be able to take better photos but when I haven't, it would be nice to know what everything means when I try to fix them.

One of these days I will do a photography course. I'm sure I will find out LOTS that I am doing wrong. LOL! But for now, it is what it is :-)

Thanks for posting the tutorial link, Sonya!

I want to take photography courses but I told DH I was going to wait until I had an SLR to play with...lol. I figure I still have a good 2 or 3 years to wait Wink

I have made my 2011 New Year's resolution!! I am going to master, well at least learn well, how to use PhotoShp Elements. In my quest for that, I have asked Santa for the newest version, 9, as mine is version 4, lots of changes since then. Also asked for a how to book that looked good and had some good review. And I found a magazine that comes in print Elements 6 times a year and also has a great online blog, forum etc with online tutorials etc. So now all I need is someone to kick me in the a** every now and then to remind me of my resolution!! I am counting on you girls for that! I figured if I threw some money at it, I would have to do something to "get my money's worth"!

I would like to take a photography course too!! Money and time doesn't allow for that right now.

I have always loved anything Adobe!! Lois, Maggi and any other women who may be reading this thread, Adobe has video tutorials on their website. http://tv.adobe.com/channels/ . Have you signed up yet? Smile Lots of useful information!!Smile

Maggi who is the author of the book that you're interested in getting? I have a lightroom 2.0 by Scott Kelby! Great author! I love his uplifting sense of humor!!!

I took a photshop class a couple weeks ago and I loved it! I learned how to make a photo b&w then part of it color. I also learned about the histogram thing. The line is supposed to be flat towards the right side. That means it's properly exposed. At least that's what the teacher in my class said.
