As I was saying, we always buy the yummy-smelling BIG vanilla candles at Zellers (Candle-lite) that come in a jar with top. I re-use the jars after the candle has buirned down.
How do I get the wax out?
when there is 1" or less wax left in the candle jar, throw the jar (unlit, LOL) into the freezer.
Leave over night. Take out in AM. Use a knife with sharp tip, and stick that tip into the wax--right at the very edge of the wax where it touches the glass jar. The wax will come out easily.
Wash jar.
Use straight kitchen dish-soap to remove the soot from the glass (wipe with a rag after you spread on the soap with your fingers.)
Do not try to wash a sooty rag- soot is greasy- DISCARD.
Enjoy using the candle jars as you like to organize pretty things loike flowers and ribbon in your scrap room!
