Despite a short history, mountain biking has become a staple event in the Olympic Games. Following the invention of this sport in the 1970s, mountain biking has been featured in every Olympic Games since its debut in 1996.

London's Mountain Bike races will take place at Hadleigh Farm in Essex; a pieice of private land owned by The Salvation Army. Each race is run over a specified number of laps and can not excede 1 hour and 45 minutes. There are 80 mountain bikers registered for LOndon - 50 men and 30 women.

Mountain Biking - "Gold On The Line" Challenge

Catharine Pendrel, defending World Champion, has already mastered the 4.7 km London Olympic Mountain Bike Course. The next time, she tackles the course a Gold Olympic medal will be on the line. Catharine is from Harvey Station, NB and now resides in Kamloops, BC



To wish Catharine well and the other members' Mountain Biking Teams, your challenge is to create a layout or card with:

1. A gold background - Pendral is going for Gold
2. A rough texture, to represent the terrain
3. At least 2 circles, for the wheels on the bike
4. Something metal, the athlete's goal is an Olympic Medal

My LO has textured and embossed cardstock with tearing and inking, plus fabric Thickers to represent the rough textures. There are 3 embossed circles on the pot and three dots in the title. The apron and measuring spoons are metal brads.



Rules

1. Must be new as of Aygust 8th.
2. May not be combined with any other Olympic Challenges but can be combined with Sketch Challenges.
3. May submit up to 2 laoyouts if you wish.
4. Deadline - August 31.
5. Have Fun!

gold cardstock...could that be like a darker yellow or does it have to be gold ?
