Do you do anything special for Valentine's Day with your significant other or your children / granchildren?

My hubby will now be at home for Valentine's Day this year, but we'll celebrate when he returns. We don't do anything special as such - the kids usually get a chocolate treat and extra hugs and kisses. We make their valentines for school, and I usually send in cupcakes to his class.

I used to make construction paper hearts and write them letters telling them how great they are.

I've already done stuff for the grandkids. I have a book to send to dd that she'll find hilarious (Fractured Fairy Tales) and the other two kids have spouses to look after them!

As for me and dh, well we figure every day is Valentine's day. Smile

Valentines day is like any other day around here. We never celebrate any special days, never have and probably never well.

Not really. I buy the boys some chocolate. Dh and I exchange cards - that's about it.

It's my birthday. I HATE it! EVERYONE is out eating and my DH won't wait more than a few minutes so we never even bother. And I feel like I'm cheated because it gets combined with the love day.... 59 minutes later and I could've gotten all the day after deals but NOPE. I had to come in a hurry and be the one my parents called "Our Little Valentine". I finally told them at the age of 16 if they called me that again I would disown them! LOL!

Anyway, DH usually gets me flowers and TWO cards (he only made the Valenbirthtines Day mistake once... Took me 3 MONTHS to say anything cuz he was so proud of himself!) and sometimes we go out to dinner a few days later....

THIS year I was supposed to go with my BFF to a friend's house for the weekend but now that DH and I have had all these issues I need to stay home..... Only good news about this day is that I won't be 60 yet! LOL!

That's about the way it is at my house. We make Valentine's cards for the classmates & I signed up to bring treats for DD's party. I signed up in Aug. so it's a good thing the teacher sends out a newsletter!! Shocked

I make cards for the DGK's and give them some money instead of candy.
