In honor of it being Friday the 13th, are you superstitious?

I wouldn`t call myself superstitious in the way most people are. I don`t walk under ladders b/c it`s just stupid, I`ve owned black cats so no worries there, and my Mom`s back never got broke b/c I accidentally (or otherwise) stepped on a crack in the sidewalk. And throwing salt over your shoulder just makes a mess and you can slip on it. I chuckle when I see Rachel Ray do it

Now, Karma....well....that`s a whole other issue! LOL

I don't have a superstitious bone in my body. I think it's so stupid to believe something can happen just because... I used to carpool with a lady who turned around and found a different route to work just because a black cat crossed in front of us, thought it was the craziest thing I had ever witnessed.

Yes and no...it depends on what it is.

I think I'm the same way Lisa. I don't really believe in any of the old wives tales because I think they're dumb & I don't have a lucky anything I carry around.

I also laugh at Rachel Ray, Wanita. Seriously, does she have to do it EVERY time she takes a pinch of salt?!?! Come on! I think she's striving to have "a thing" kwim?

I'm not really superstitious but I do have some beliefs that might fall within superstition.

I don't believe in the 13th being bad - I was born on a 13th and it is actually my favorite number.

Black cats are pets, not bad luck; and well, walking under a ladder is only bad luck if you get hit by something falling and that's more to do with being dumb enough to walk under it than anything else. Same with opening an umbrella in the house, the "old wives" started that superstition I'm sure to scare their kids into not opening their umbrellas in the house and taking out moms or their siblings eyes with the pokey ends.

I'm with Wanita, Karma is the only to worry about. I do believe that comes around in a big bus hitting people who need it.
