I have always done this technique which chalk but recently learned how to use ink. I hope you give it a try.

1. Start with your inks:

2. Get a container with cold water, it doesn't have to be full, just enough water to cover your paper

3. Add alcohol ink to the water. You can mix as many colors as you wish, just don’t add to many to make it muddy. I usually use three. If you don’t have the ink you can use colored chalk.

4. Drop your paper into the water and then pick it up after it is coated. Pretty much drop it in and then pick it up. I like both sides of mine under water, that way I get something on both sides.

Your first sheet will pick up most of the color and then you second paper will be much lighter. You can add more ink or if you want to try another color dump out the water and change your colors.

5.Put the paper on a towel to dry.

I have used cardstock, plain paper, heavy weight paper and even shrink dinks in the water. Just
experiment and have some fun.

I hope you give it a try and have some fun. It is like you are inventing something new each time.

I like that. It would be like making your own pattern paper.

Carol, you do the water the same but you crush up your chalk and put it in the water. Everything is just the same.

It is Gail, the bigger the bowl the bigger the piece of paper you can put in the water.
