When do you usually put your tree up? How about your Christmas decorations?

The day after Thanksgiving I'll put out my creche. Slowly after that I'll put up my woodland Santas. The tree waits until the week before Christmas. Partly because it's a living tree and partly because it begins to feel like clutter to me, so I wait til the last minute.

This year is different because dh is gone and then I'm gone. We won't be home together again until mid-December. I need it done before that so I have time to acclimate and "rest" before the holidays or I'm asking for a bed-ridden Christmas! No fun. Sad

We have traditionally done it December 1 or first weekend in December. We stopped getting live trees several years ago simply because I love Christmas (my favourite holiday) and wanted it up for longer. We have a nice big room for the tree so it's not very cluttery (a problem in other houses we've lived in!)

So to answer your question.. I'm doing it this week. santa

I get a real tree, so it doesn't get put up until probably the 2nd week in December, maybe the 3rd. IF is snows, who know! May be up before then :-)

Christmas decorations come out around the same time.

We've started some Christmas decorating, and hopefully will have it all completed by Dec 2! Smile We usually do not put our Christmas tree up until after December 15th... but this year we're changing things up a little! Smile

I'm not sure when we will be doing ours. Last year we used our fake tree & I put it up myself - boo! Probably shortly after Thanksgiving.

We won't be putting one up unless Tyler comes over and wants one up.

I usually put it up about a week before Christmas. I've had an unloved artificial tree for about 4 years now.

We used to put decorations up the first weekend in Dec but DH doesn`t like that. Youngest DS was born Dec 15 so when he was about 2 we started waiting until after his bday so that it wouldn`t be overshadowed by Christmas. Now he likes the decorations up early in Dec (he`s going to be 12 this year).
